What is Messy Magic Moments?
Messy Magic Moments is a sensory and messy-play experience designed for children aged 0–5. Each week features a new theme with hands-on, taste-safe activities that encourage exploration, imagination, creativity and connection between children and their caregivers.
What age group are the sessions for?
Our sessions are designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers aged 0–5 years. Activities are carefully planned so each age can explore safely at their own level.
Do parents need to stay during the session?
Yes. Messy Magic Moments is a parent-supervised play session. Caregivers stay and play alongside their child to support them and enjoy the magic together.
What do I need to bring?
We recommend bringing:
•A change of clothes (for your child and possibly yourself!)
•A Swim nappy
•A towel or wipes
•A water bottle
•Hat & sunscreen (outdoor sessions)
•Your sense of fun!
Everything else is provided.
What should my child wear?
Old clothes or something that can get messy. Sensory play can include water, foam, cloud dough, coloured rice, and other safe, hands-on materials.
Is everything taste-safe?
Most of our sensory bases are taste-safe and suitable for little hands and mouths; however, some materials (such as sand) are not taste-safe. We never use high-risk allergens such as nuts. If your child has specific allergies or sensitivities, please speak with us before the session so we can help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
Are the sessions messy?
Yes — gloriously! Everything is washable, and you don’t need to worry about the cleanup. We handle it all. Do you run sessions if it rains? Yes! We run outdoors whenever possible, but will move indoors at the Burnett Heads Community Hall during heavy rain or extreme heat.
What if I need to cancel?
We offer reschedules with 24 hours’ notice. No-shows or last-minute cancellations are non-refundable. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Are numbers limited?
Yes. To keep the environment calm, safe and enjoyable, each session has limited spaces. Early booking is recommended.
Do you cater for family daycare groups?
Yes! Please message us so we can ensure we have all required forms completed (waiver, photography consent, risk documentation) prior to the session.
Where are sessions held?
Weekly Monday & Friday sessions are held at:📍 Burnett Heads Community Hall
With outdoor play as the main focus (weather permitting).
Is this suitable for shy or sensory-sensitive children?
Absolutely. Children are welcome to explore at their own pace. There is no pressure to complete activities — it’s all about gentle, child-led play.
Do you host themed sessions?
Yes! Every week is a new theme — from Valentines and Under the Sea to Construction, Dinosaurs, Space, and more. A full-year theme calendar is available.
Do you offer private events or parties?
Not at this time — but this may be added in the future. Stay tuned!
